Outdoor Management Development Programmes

Charu and Doc have been into this field of adventure since their childhood. Both of them are passionately in love with all the activities which involve adventure. They always tried their hand at various new activities as they grew up. As they have grown up with this passion for adventure, their dedication stuck on lot of people who came in their contact. Many of these people also were bitten by this adventure bug.
As they kept growing in stature and experience, they felt a need that this spirit of adventure has to be propagated to masses, may be in a slightly diluted form. Once people at large would get to taste this “SPIRIT”, they would automatically be hooked on to it. Then they can pursue their own adventure and can also up the ante. Charu and Doc believed from the bottom of their hearts, that this is the only sure way of propagating “THE SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE”.
With this strong belief they came together for many ventures in the past, which also made them a formidable pair in the field of mountaineering. Once they opted out of the first attempt of Everest Expedition in 1997, they set out to nurture their dream of having a company which would take people through this path of soft adventure to real hard core adventure. This is how Hills and Trails came into existence in Jan 1997.
The company started off with a bang and started with the camping holidays for children in Sahyadris. With a strong network of friends and Charu’s and Doc’s strong image, lots of parents were rest assured with their kids being in safe hands. Slowly as the graph of the company went up a lot of new itineraries were added up. At Hills and Trails we have been taking people for various trekking, skiing, camping and jeep safari programmes. Through out these 10 years of existence we must have taken more than 2000 guests on various itineraries through Western Ghats and Himalayas. We had the confidence and experience of taking people on various adventure activities right from Ladakh in Kashmir to Pemayangtse in Sikkim. The intensity and the difficulty of the venture differing as per the need of the group.
They ventured into the Kailas Manasarovar Yatra in year 2000 and etched their name as the most respected and trusted operator in the sector. By now Hills and Trails must have taken more than 400 yatris on this most sacred but at the same time very arduous journey in the world. Age is no bar! Some times it sounds unbelievable that even a young man of 74 years have done the Kailas Kora with them.
They have always encouraged people who are young at heart and have burning desire
to do some thing new and thrilling in life on such tours. Physical handicaps and health
problems alone do not dither such determined soles from taking these adventurous
paths. People with so called compelling and crippling physical handicaps and so
called very bad medical conditions have successfully done the Kailas Manas Yatra
with Hills and Trails.
